Terms & Conditions – Bin Cleaning Subscription Service
Effective Date: 01/08/2025
1. The parties
1.1 "You" / "Customer" means the person or organisation who subscribes for the service.
1.2 "We" / "Us" / "Our" means BIN2CLEAN Ltd., the provider of the bin cleaning service.
2. The service
2.1 We will provide cleaning services at the Customer's address (as subscribed) at the agreed frequency. Available frequencies include 'Annual' plans" / 'Yearly' plans which provide twelve cleans per subscription year for all bins specified in the particular plan, and 'Monthly' plans, which provide an average of one clean per month for all bins specified in the particular plan subscribed to. In the case of annual plans, we will attempt to space cleans appropriately throughout the course of the year of service and will attempt to clean with slightly increased frequency during warmer months than in colder months.
2.2 Each clean will include internal and external cleaning of the bin(s) using our standard equipment, detergents and procedures. Some details of the common cleaning process are detailed on our website, but we reserve the right to make the necessary alterations case-by-case as we see fit, depending on the specifics of things such as (but not limited to) the bin/s, the weather, the operator or the available equipment.
2.3 Customers will be notified by either SMS text message or by email the day prior to each scheduled clean.
2.4 After placing your booking, we will attempt to schedule your first clean within a period of 28 days, subject to availability, but often service can commence much sooner.
3. Customer responsibilities
3.1 The Customer must ensure bin(s) are clearly marked with house number or name and accessible for cleaning close to the address for which service is booked (typically kerbside/accessible from the road own which service is arranged for). Bins must not be behind a locked gate or in such a place as to put our operator at any risk or danger by collecting it. In the case that a customer's bin/s can not be identified, reasonable efforts will be taken to ascertain the correct bin/s to clean, but in such cases no responsibility can be taken by us for any cleaning of the wrong household's bin/s.
3.2 Bins must be emptied by the local authority collection service (or equivalent) on the normal scheduled collection day and be free of excessive contamination prior to cleaning, otherwise the operative may be unable to carry out the scheduled clean. (Examples of contamination include: wet paint, oil, ash, mud, human/animal waste, insects etc.)
3.3 Where bin/s present with a small amount of loose rubbish, we may attempt to remove the rubbish in order to provide service nonetheless. In such cases, the rubbish collected from the bin will be sealed inside of a refuse sack and neatly returned to the bin following the successful cleaning process.
3.4 If the bin is not presented, inaccessible, locked, blocked or removed, we reserve the right to treat the scheduled clean as missed.
3.5 If the local authority does not collect the bin (so the bin remains full) or the bin is contaminated so that cleaning cannot be safely or properly carried out, we will endeavour to reschedule or preserve customer credit. Where a customer's bin is/bins are routinely contaminated, bin cleaning may need to be suspended whilst we find an alternative solution to the problem with the customer's assistance and co-operation. Where the local authority routinely misses the collection day, or routinely collects for an address late at night, it may be necessary to arrange to clean that customer's bin/s on the next working day instead and in such instances we will work with the customer to find the best solution for all parties.
4. Subscription & payment
4.1 The service is ongoing (the subscription continues automatically) until cancelled in accordance with clause 7.
4.2 Payment is via the original means of subscription and on an automatically rolling renewal basis, unless otherwise updated by the customer using one of the methods detailed in clause 7.1.
4.3 If payment fails, we reserve the right to suspend service immediately and without notice.
4.4 Prices are subject to change; but we will always notify customers in advance of any such change where the price change is (on an annualised basis) greater than that of the Bank of England base rate at the time of the change. If you are in a fixed minimum term subscription (see clause 7) we will honour your original price until the expiry of that minimum term, but at time of renewal it may be subject to the price increase.
5. Minimum term
5.1 For monthly subscribers to our residential bin cleaning services, a minimum term of one month from the start date applies. For yearly subscribers to our residential bin cleaning services, a minimum term of one year from the start date applies. If you cancel before expiry, you may be charged an early-termination fee equal to the remaining scheduled cleans at the standard rate.
5.2 After the minimum term has expired, the contract automatically renews for another term of the same length as the original and unless cancelled.
6. Missed/Rescheduled cleans
6.1 If we cannot clean your bin due to our fault (e.g. equipment failure, illness, equipment service) or weather, we will attempt to reschedule the clean or issue a pro-rata credit/refund for that clean at our discretion.
6.2 If the bin is not available, presented or accessible through no fault of ours, the scheduled clean will have been deemed to have taken place. At our discretion we will attempt to reschedule such cases for customers at the next available opportunity.
6.3 If the local authority changes collection days, we will attempt to adjust our schedule accordingly, but there may be some disruption to cleaning schedules as a consequence.
7. Cancellation / Termination
7.1 You may schedule cancellation of your subscription at any time, to take effect upon the end of your existing minimum term agreement, by giving clear written notice (via email) to support@bin2clean.com from your official email address on file, or via the self-service option at the customer portal accessed via the "Manage your subscription" link found in the footer of our website https://www.bin2clean.com and using the email address you supplied. Alternatively, you may exercise your right to cancel by calling and speaking to us on our telephone line 07565 198 193.
7.2 If you move address within our service area we may transfer the service to the new address (subject to feasibility). If you move outside our service area, the subscription ends and any unused credits may be forfeited unless otherwise agreed.
7.3 We may terminate services, or suspend providing service to a customer immediately if any of our terms are breached including cases of non-payment, bin misuse and/or abusive behaviour toward our staff or other customers.
8. Liability
8.1 We carry public liability insurance and take reasonable care in delivering our services.
8.2 We are not liable for damage which is not caused by our negligence (for example pre-existing bin damage, internal damage from chemicals, weather-related issues, refusal by local authority to empty).
8.3 Bins cleaned can carry residual marks, stains, signs of wear and/or moisture.
9. Data & privacy
9.1 We will collect and store your name, address, contact details and payment information for the purpose of providing this service.
9.2 We comply with UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation). Your data will not be sold or provided to third parties, except where required to by law.
10. Changes to these Terms
10.1 We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
11.1 These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
